Distributor help
I'll drop the dizzy in, and if it doesn't go all the way down, I will either grab the crank pulley and turn it with my hands - OR if the vehicle has a manual transmission, I will simply put it in like first or second gear, and then push on the vehicle enough to get the drivetrain to turn the crank very slightly.
And the best way to mark a dizzy upon removal is to make a mark where the rotor is pointing before pulling up. Then when you pull the dizzy up and out, the rotor will move slightly as it walks off of the cam gear. Then I make a second mark where the rotor ends up once the dizzy is out.
So as long as the dizzy is pointing at that second mark when you start dropping it back in, it will end up right on the first mark once it drops all the way home.
