Just got replacement seats for the front, old ones were worn out, from a salvage yard. The new ones have the lumbar system built in, but there is no power connection for them where the old seats were, as they were not lumbar.
I am going to the salvage yard this weekend to see if the wiring harness for them is in any of the stripped aerostars. I am hoping to at lest get the connector ends.
In case I don't find them, has anyone added them to their car before. If so, how did you do it.
If I have too, I can trace the wiring diagram and figure it out, but was hoping someone can save me some time.
power them up before ging through the trouble of wiring them to make sure the pumps even work and hold pressure. I may have the wiring diagram on a disc. I'll check and let you know if you need it.
It has been a while since i pulled an Aerostar apart, but, if memory serves me correctly it is a direct feed from the fuse box. Plus, if you pull up your rug the connector should be there next to the plug for the AWD CPu.
Good news, bad news. The lumbar seats work. My cable harness does not have the connectors.
Went to the salvage yard and found an Aerostar that had the lumbar seats. Removed the seats, lifted the carpet undid everywhere the harness went and traced it back to the cover behind the hood pull latch. Has a big connector and a small connector.
The small connector on mine has 2 wires. On the other one 4. So I completely removed the other harness and will now have to install it on mine. Lot's of fun.
Hey, just so you know, on the pass. side there is usually a storage tray under the seat. So, if you do not have one on your seats, head back to the junkyard and grab one.
Yep, I think all Aerostars have the nuckle buster box. Pulled everything out of the front and lifted the carpet, putting in the cable that also does Lumber Seats.
Everything works great now. Lumbar seats are like new.
