yes I know they are garbage-- but I cannot afford new ones..... been on a truck a few years (2001 F250)- the one side was easy to select "free" and "locked" no issue- the drivers side would not "free"- (of course now I need 4wd......)- I took hub out and cleaned it- When I try and put the first piece back in (lining up the splines) it will not go in all the way on axle... Makes no sense...... it should just slide on??? Am i missing something? Also- the front tire is still in "locked" mode even without the hub (when I raise truck off ground both wheel and axle spin (which I thought was good)- when I select 4wd it does not kick in...... Am i missing something here?

stick a long screwdriver through the u-joint in the knuckle and turn the wheel. it will turn or it won't.
