I sent an email to Coker, and asked them what their recommended tube was for a 1950 F1, with stock 16" rims running the firestone 6.50x16 bias ply tires and they came back with these:

500R16/700R16 Radial Tube TR15 Offset Rubber Stem
https://www.cokertire.com/kr-16-500r...dial-tube.html

I think the TR-15 designates the size of the rubber stem?

This is a little diff from what is being talked about, by the way I bought tires from, tire easy bias ply 6.50-16", anyway my question is, the tires say tubeless, does anyone know anything about a tubeless bias ply?
Thanks.

I was thinking of staying with bias plies.

Thanx,

Hi Kirk,
i just bought 5 of the classic 6.50x16 pie crust Firestone tires. This was for my 52. These we’re supposedly the OEM equipped tires and from photos it looks like they were. They also have 6.00x16 but the slightly wider was on there already in another older repro pie crust tire. New ones aren’t not mounted yet but are probably the same as what’s on there now only newer. I opted for bias ply cause I like the look/ originality, and don’t care about any benefit of radials.

What I’d like to get next is a pair of rear mud or snow tires that you see on old farm trucks.

John

On my 1949 F1 I am running 16 x 16.5 Coker Classic Radials with tubes and have been for over 15 years. They have the look of bias but the smoothness of radials. I have read the comments about steering at slow speeds and parking but personally have not experienced that. One drawback though is that radials can be hard on the stock rims and I have had one rim crack under the added stress.
After running on bias ply for the first 25 years, I am a fan of the ride provided with the radials. I would like to ride in a truck with modern day bias tires to see how the have advanced because someday I will have to get new tires....not because of mileage but age of tires!
Just my 2 cents.

Sounds like a great show. Looks like approximately a 2500 mile trip from here! Will have to figure if these old bones and the '49's old steel has that in them! lol
