Transmission questions

HI all fellow Aerostar folks, I have been lagging on my transmission filter change, but plan to do it this week Wed-Fri. The question is its been a long while since the filter has been changed, and like many here have told me these good old machines will let us know when they need trans fluid. It has somes times slipping out of gear while the engine/trans is cold but when it is warm no problems. Question could this been because the old filter is clogged and not allowing as much trans fluid through till it warms up and thins out. --- just question possed. This is atleast what I am thinking. It is really strange I am really excited about doing this tranmission filter/fluid/gasket change fairly cheap job. I know probably sound like a freak but for someone getting ready to semi-open up a trans for the first time ever it's a big deal.

The Bladder filter is really strange looking but I guess you mold it to fit what you need. ohhhh yea she clicked 180,000 a day ago. I was a chevy lover and was down on this vehicle when we got it but it is a tank .......... and I think I have seen more of these old tanks on the road then any other vehicles still around (Ford did it right). Does anyone know of a car that ford made same quality my wife is looking for something to drive back and forth to work Ohhh well thanks for all the great info here ....... Chris
