Smile Cab Cart?

As I am new to this whole truck restoration process, I now have the cab ready to be removed. I am looking for a simple diagram or spec sheet on how to build a good cart to place the cab on so I can move it in and out of my one-man shop. Any suggestions?

I used a portion of a frame from a parts truck, but unlikely you would have the same situation. Just use 2x4's, casters and a bunch of screws. Bolt holes will line up with your cab mount points.

Cab cart

I used 2x4’s on edge screwed to 2x6’s on the flat. The 2x4’s fit in the channel that runs under the doors and are the length of the cab.
Join the 2x4/2x6 T sections with 2x6’s also on the flat and running across the front & rear of the cab and this gives you the base to attach casters, with built in plates.

I used some scrap wood and some cheap 8 inch caster wheels from Harbor freight. I don't have a hard surface out doors and the bigger wheels roll a lot easier in the gravel. Right now the same contraption is holding my bed up.

I just bought a rotisserie so I'll be using that this time around, but when I was doing my mustangs I bought a single section of the HD adjustable pallet shelving and bolted body mount brackets to it. worked great cause you could make it any height you wanted for the work you were doing at the time. Just add some large casters and your good to go.
