What is this between my engine /trans

I removed my flywheel and the plate behind it and there were these strange pieces of metal. Anyone know what they are and why they might be there?

Thanks in advance

Someone may have been using this area to store parts. The cylindrical parts look like the needle bearings used on the trans' input shaft.

The curly Q parts look like the springs used on F100/150 parking brake levers (one per side).

They do look like a spring from a drum brake but they are a little smaller. People really “store” parts in this area?!

Probably not. The rollers look about right but my rear Sprague used thin metal corrugated pieces for springs

This happened to me about a year ago! Drove me batty trying to figure it out. I found those same pieces, but mine were in the C6 bellhousing area. I finally settled on the assesment that they had come from the starter. I cant remember what had convinced me though...

the look a alot like the brush springs, https://www.amscovf.com/SPRING-BRUSH..._p_309707.html

but with the presence of the pins, most likely bendix guts...as seen in the pic above...

Looks like bendix (starter drive) guts to me as well.
Brush springs are unlikely since they are located in the rear of the starter and would be unable to get past the armature to the drive end.

I'm glad that there's a plausible explanation, because all I could come up with was that radioactive squirrels stashed them there, and I know that's not right...
