Hello all. I have a 79 f150 super cab 4x4 with leaf springs in the front. My question... Will the leaf springs from a 92-97 f250/350 fit in the front? I have a friend that has some with 4" lift. Will these fit without much modding or fab? TIA.

1978/79 F150 4WD Super Cab use the same front two leaf springs as 1977 F250 4WD from serial number Y20,001 (not a High Boy); 1978/79 F250 4WD & 1979 F350 4WD
Hopefully, someone reading this thread will know the specs of the 1992/96 F250/350 & 1997 F250 Heavy Duty & F350 leaf springs. 1997 F250 Light Duty springs are different.
The OBS springs will be 3" wide with 23-7/8" x 28-3/8" measurements with 9/16" eye bolts.
Even though the F250 & F350 springs had the same measurements and bushings the weight capacities were completely different and arches were different from one another, one was designed for a straight axle while the other was not.

Is the spring eye spacing wrong or to much fab work needed?
Somethingclever...... You said that from center of wheel to fender lip should be 21-1/2". Mine are at 20-1/4" so my springs have sagged. I wouldn't mind a little lift, that is why I asked about the HB springs in a different post and about these springs in this post. My local jy has 2 HB that have been mostly stripped but the front springs are still in them. Thanks
99% of the time those springs are worn out. The PO of my blue truck had put some (6 leaf) HB springs that at one time were probably great, but over time they were worn out to the point they were FLAT and then he added front blocks...I would hate for you go go thru all the trouble to get them off a JY truck, then all the work to put them on your truck and it settle and you wind up with lots of hard work and NO lift.
Highboys had front leaf springs with 5-6 leafs (depending on GVW) that
were 3 inches wide. Highboy front leaf springs were more arched than
non-Highboy front leaf springs.
