Are these highboy stings? Interchangeable?
Thanks!
Yes, there is a definite difference between F-250 and F-350 springs. That's why the designations exist. An F-250 is a 3/4 ton and a 350 is a one ton.
1967/76 F250 4WD & 1977 F250 4WD before serial number Y20,001 (all High Boys) have either 5 or 6 leaf front spring pack.
1977 F250 4WD from serial number Y20,001 (not a High Boy), 1978/79 F250 4WD & 1979 F350 4WD have a 2 leaf front spring pack.
High Boy springs will not fit non High Boys.
) Dimension wise are they the same? In the 90s,(I realize we are not talking about 90s trucks..) the only real difference was the axles. The 250/350 springs had the exact same dimensions. the rear springs in the 90s f250/f350 are the same. Thats why I asked. Thanks for the replies!
2 leaf spring pack same dimensions: 1977/79 F250 4WD & 1979 F350 4WD.
Regular/Super/Crew Cab springs may be the same, may not be...as it depends on the load rates.
, won't fit according to what info? My 78 had some old wore out 6 pk HB leaf springs under the front end...they were PO installed along with some other stupidness (blocks when the wore out springs started to sag).HB front springs are the same 3" width as 77-79 2 leaf. Mine had no modifications to the front spring hanger or the rear shackles. All were OEM.
It now has some 4" Rough Country springs WITHOUT blocks. And yes I cut off the extra u-bolt, it was a mid job pic.

So 77&79F250 how much of a difference did the HB springs make? How much of a block was necessary in the back to make it sit level? These springs are more than likely worn out… It also has a 351c in it. I'm about 99% sure I know the answer to this question, but did ford ever put a 351c in the 70s trucks? It has a ford 4bbl intake on it, but that doesn't mean much.. I might take the heads off and see if they're the quench type

yeah right, maybe ill get lucky…..Ill try to post some pics now!
Rear HB springs are to narrow to directly bolt on without changing both rear spring (spring hangers) also. And that ='s rivet grinding and way to much work, its not worth it.
Just get a 4" lift kit system, a lift kit is new front springs, system is front and rear, FYI you will need longer soft brake lines.
Smart thing to do it get a new set of Rough Country, Sky Jacker or Superlift 4" springs.
Being a paying supporter of the site, make adding pics easy.
They added the front block (duh bad idea) and stacked (duh bad idea #2) 2 OEM blocks in the back to level it out.
My next plan is new rear 4" springs, but I like the overloads and sway bar.
I don't know if anyone is still following this post, but turns out the truck is in fact a highboy, its a 73. It does have a 351 Cleveland 4v 4 bolt main. And for those of you wondering if it fits just perfect, looks like you have to notch the frame a tad to get the stock exhaust manifolds to clear haha.
Thanks for the replies!
Maybe there is a different vehicle 351C application that will work you for? Post up the question in the engine forums for some extra help BEFORE YOU NOTCH....!
