94 Explorer Shock replacement?
i have a 98 ford explorer and need replacement shocks. right now i have gabriel vst gas shocks and dont like them one bit. the rides to hard and the shocks arnt long enought so sometimes you can hear the chassi top out. i do city and highway drving only and never tow or anything. I want a soft ride. any help would be really greatfull

94 Explorer Shock replacement?
I recently installed the KYB MonoMax on my '94; very happy with the result. Cost-wise the KYBs are middle of the road; not a bad deal for a gas shock. These guys http://www.shockwarehouse.com have a pretty good selection.

I just replaced all the shocks with Monroe Senso-Trac. It was fairly easy once I got the right metric sockets and wrenches. No jacking was required, just turned the front wheels hard right or left to expose the opposite shock. I am happy with the feel of the new shocks.
