2 nd gen explorer axles

hi there guys , im looking for infor on the 1996-2001 ford explorer axles. specifically the fronts. I own a 92 f150 with dana 44ttb's and Want to re gear it. I got a price on a 4x4 98 explorer with axle code 42 . apparently this is a 4:10 non-conventional posi-traction geared diff. I want to take is gears and disk brake blates with some custom rotors from currie and give my self a 4:10 8.8 axle with disk brakes instead of drums. simple put i need to know how i can accomplish the gear ratio for my front dana 44 setup any ideas

You can't use any Explorer parts for the front axle. Your best bet is find an F250 with the Dana 50 TTB axle and buy the whole differential housing with the gears inside. The Dana 50 housing will bolt right up to the Dana 44 axle beam, and 4.10s were an extremely common gear ratio on those F250s.
