I see a bunch of people doing chrome deletes, as am I, and I found OEM black plastic mirror caps to replace my chrome ones for about $6.50 each. The part numbers are HC3Z-17D743-AA and HC3Z-17D742-AA and I'm really happy with them. For what it is worth I ordered them from https://www.fordpartscatalog.com. I just installed them tonight so please excuse the filthy truck. While I'm at it, anyone have actual part numbers to replace the chrome door handles?
Do the chrome caps just pop off and those black caps pop right on?
Here is a pic of the chrome cap.
This is the right side mirror cap. If you tilt you mirror down and to the inside, using a flashlight, you'll see the 3 clips that need to be released. Looking at the pic above, you'll note 2 stand-offs at the top, and one at the bottom right. These stand-offs are secure by clips visible behind the mirror. The 3 clips are relatively easy to release with a flat blade screwdriver, reaching in behind the mirror..
The pen points to the "sacrificial" clip that is nearly impossible to release without major mirror disassembly. Once the other 3 clips are released, pull the mirror toward the front of the truck in a sharp controlled manner, allowing the cap to pivot downward slightly. This allows that sacrificial clip to snap off pretty easily. Take a small screwdriver and pop out the remnant of the clip. One of mine fell inside the mirror and I didn't worry about it. Snap the new caps on. Easy-peasy. Chrome sucks, nobody wants used caps.
I checked with my local Ford Parts dept.. The handle caps are not available separately, I was told I had to order the handles as a complete assembly. They could not find just the top shells, but told me if I could get a part # they could try to look it up.
I also switched out the caps on my truck as well. The painted white platinum against the black mirror looked silly to me. I kept the caps just in case I change my mind down the road. Took all of 15 minutes to switch out from start to finish.
I noticed the shipping cost of the mirror caps are around the same price as both mirrors put together averaging around 22 dollars shipped vs 12 dollars for parts. Does anyone have a free shipping coupon because that is just ludicrous?
Not sure but I believe F150 and Superduty OEM handle covers are interchangeable. I have 2016 XLT F150 SuperCrew (NO keyless entry) shadow black painted handle covers that I want to swap for chrome. If anyone is interested send me a PM.

I'd be interested in swapping. I have a 2017 crew cab f250. Not sure how to PM on here.

Looks like I can't send a PM because I am a new member. I created a Craigslist post so we can communicate via email there. I will send you my cell # through CL so we can discuss.
Cleaned my truck today. Here are some pictures of my truck and the handles I want to swap. I have a platinum grille on order and am slowly changing things over to chrome. I am also on F150forum.com if that helps anyone.
