Does anybody know a good source for a type nine mirror? Mine is loose on the post. I assume the parts inside are rusted beyond repair. I just need the mirror and housing. The brackets are good to go.
Hell now I can not even edit the wording...at least I can delete it but how and where do you paste in something different? I might have a few spare brackets if you are brave enough to take the mirror out.
The inside bracket was toast. Thought to myself, I can make that. Found a piece of 3/32 mild steel. Set it over a socket and smacked it hard a few times with something that gave me a little divot. Pierced a couple of holes in the piece exactly 1.5 inches apart with a sharp narrow bit that I have for my air chisel that I have for just this purpose. Ran a #10 tap through the holes. Straighten the whole thing out a little in my vice, greased everything up, and stuck her on.
Didn't have double backed tape, so a laid a bead of super glue across the top of the rubber gasket and shoved it all together. Golden. Kind of a hassle, but I didn't have to leave the house, and I didn't have to wait.
It's great having tools and knowing how to use them.
The mirror was like the one in 77&79F250's first post.
