Help

I have a 1996 f250 with a 5.8 351w 5 speed standard. I drove the truck last night and all was well no noises and shifting 100%. The truck sat overnight, and when I started it in the morning it started like normal and I let the clutch out and there was no noise. I went inside to get a coffee and when I got back to the truck it had shut off. I didn't think to much of it because it stalls from time to time when cold. So I got in and restarted the engine but this time when I let the clutch out the truck lunged forward and yes the shifter was in neutral! The shifter still moves and can hear it shifting but when in gear the truck immediately dies. That was the first time I ever moved a truck in neutral. Any help would be appreciated!!!!
The truck has 212xxx

I'm not sure if this will help but have a look at the link above. It might give you a place to start looking.

Thanks turns out the bearing on the back of the input shaft welded itself together thus why it moved in neutral. Going to order a new one and go from there I guess.
