My center support bushing seems like the rubber had shrunken and now it is loose inside the bracket. Not by much, but it is loose. The bearing is still ok, just the rubber bushing. Here's a video-
Yes! Replace it ASAP! Same thing happened on my 95 150.... Caused the tail end of the transmission to crack and I got like a knocking noise when I drove all because the drive shaft moved a little.. Drove with it like that for 100k, which is why the tail end of my trans cracked... but nonetheless get that thing tight so it wont move by hand! (That damn truck has 315k on it, still runs strong.)
It shouldn't move like that. Also, clean up whatever is causing all that oil buildup on the bearing. It could be degrading the rubber somehow.
Yeah that's just paint, nothing is wet underneath, just looks that way.

When you replaced the bushing, did it get rid of any noises? I get an occasional clunk and maybe this is the cause.

Yeah. But that could be because I also replaced the yokes to make the whole thing tighter. After that, there was still some noise so I would suggest getting your driveshaft balanced after everything is changed.
