92 F150 I6 Rough Idle
New guy here. Actually new to the Ford world. Came across a good deal on a 92 F150 with the Inline 6 owned by my wife's family. It starts but runs very rough and dies. No way to even get it to move under power. If i keep my foot on the gas, it will stay running, but still rough. I crawled underneath and saw a rusted fuel filter. Hoping that was the case, I changed it. Didn't really help(though the gas I saw coming out of the fuel filter was nasty, so I'm sure it will help in the long run). From what I have been told, it ran great in July/Aug, then started running very rough out of the blue and it has sat since, being started randomly since. In Dec/jan, they put a fuel treatment in it to keep it from freezing. Fuel gauge shows 1/2 Tank. Air filter is OK. Cap and rotor look OK, not terribly old, but I will replace soon anyways.
My uncle is thinking its some bad fuel and to drain the tank.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks for any help offered. If there is a link to information that might help, please put it. I usually try to research stuff before I make a post, but I'm in a time crunch.

first thing i would do is eliminate the possibility of bad gas.
if it was last fueled in july/aug. then the viability of the gas is HIGHLY suspect, IMHO. gasoline just doesn't keep like it used to.
as far as troubleshooting these trucks, ford gives us a bit of a leg up by providing a schraeder valve on the fuel rail with which we can easily test fuel pressure (using a gauge ... fuel squirting out when you depress it doesn't constitute a proper test).
also, one can easily pull codes using the self-test connector located on the drivers side fender close to the firewall.
