I had the dreaded heated seat switch light on but no heat. My wife and I took the bottom cushion off only to find that the elements looking fine. Thought it might be the heated seat control module but that isn't the issue either.
Is there a chance that the issue could be in the seat back or between the seat back and bottom? I don't have any sort of electrical current measuring tool except an idiot light.
Do you have 4 wires going to your seat cushion heater? there's an internal thermostat on the 4-wire seats. Lose the stat, lose the whole heated seat.
And if you're only doing a visual inspection of electrical components: "looks f****d" is a good indication that it's f****d, but "looks fine" is not a good indication that it is fine.
A common problem is that the wires in the heating pad melt and short out. Just recovered my seats and replaced the pad that had melted wires with this Dorman kit from amazon.
Dorman 628-040 Universal Seat Heater Kit $40.
