1952 F-5 Newspaper Advertisement from 11/05/52

While going through some old family boxes today I ran across an interesting News article from November 5, 1952 that my Mother had saved. The front page had Eisenhower/Nixon election results from 1952 and the back had an add for the Ford F-5's. Thought some of you guys might like seeing it. Is it a 52 or 53? Edit: Never mind it has to be a 52. Still using the F-5 terminology!

Pretty cool! I'd love to see the results of their economy test, anyone got it?

It's in print. You're just supposed to believe it.

I do not know where you find it but I did find a very interesting website for other Ford Truck Ads. Check this out. It is awesome! I'm sure some of the guys already know about it but it is cool.

It’s probably in the Sales Handbook. I’ll dig it out later and look to see if it’s there. Will come back to edit. Stu

Some light reading. It’s 11 pages if all the industrial group detail pages are included. These three should cover our general interest. Stu

Thanks, Dave. I checked out the Duke University Digital repository site. Maybe you already saw this... There are a lot of 53 ads, five 54 ads but no 55 ads!

"No distinction was made between V8 and 6-cylinder models since running costs and gas mileage figures were found to be approximately equal"

Interesting statement, one that has been gospel in many circles for ages. I wonder what the salesmens' reactions were to that?

One thing is clear, these were being used as Trucks, the average payloads are substantial. No mall crawlers or Bro-dozers back then!

Thanks for scanning that, Stu!
