2001 excursion motor swap

Hi all, I have a 2001 ex that the oil pump went out in. The motor may still be good but have thought of swapping it out. It has the V10 and I don’t need the power anymore due to getting a SD V10. What would be the most economical motor to put in it that would match up? Thanks.

Um, another V10? Otherwise you'd have to deal with harnesses and computer, at a minimum.

Yeah, unless you are looking for a huge and complicated engine, computer and wiring harness swap with little to no real economic gains, another V-10 is the answer. On the bright side, brand new factory Ford V-10s are still available for decent prices, they are spec'ed for the Econline vans but all they need is an oil pan swap to fit into your EX!

Thanks for the info and the good news. I had the misunderstanding that Ford was phasing out the older V10’s and it would cost you an arm and a leg. May sell it as mech special to free up some yard space and project work.
