Project update - removable grille

My plan was always to have the grille be removable to allow access to the radiator and AC parts. So having cut up the grill panel and installed the two headlight panels into the front clip permanently this allowed me to make the grill bars removable and may be a custom grille in the future.

That's pretty awesome. How are the grille bars removable, and did you deliberately omit the parking lights?

Especially since I believe that back at the factory Ford magically held the grill up in the air and then built the truck around it.

I welded filler plates to each end of the grille bars then welded a captive bolt. The grille bars can be reached by removing the hood latch panel and securing with nuts. I’ll probably sandwich the bars to the fixed grille with a layer of foam rubber before final fixing. As for the parking lights I’m using LED 7” beams with built in running lights that become turn signals as required.
