360 carb issue

I’m by no means a carb expert but Wouldn’t you want to rotate the choke housing clockwise on the right side of carb to lean it out? Seems like that would help out with the black exhaust smoke.

Did you pull the egr block?
I found my vacumn leaks there. Rust build up between intake and egr block.
