93 F150 4x4 - Anybody have recommendations on the best U-Joint brand? Don't know if good 'ol NAPA is fine or if there is a preferred brand. Also - sealed or zerk fitting? Thoughts?
I believe Spicer supplies both NAPA and Car Quest brand u-joints.
Sealer vs. Zerk ?
Your choice. The sealed u-joints are solid & a little stronger than the hollow Zerk equipped joints. The sealed units will hold up a little better if you're running monster tires or you abuse the drivetrain on a regular basis.
IMHO, unless you've got 35" mudders or you go rock crawling on a regular basis, go with the greasable joints.
Yup! I have seen NAPA parts made by Spicer. Also, I have purchased actual Spicer parts from my local NAPA store. Very good brand to use. I have had no problems. Jake.
hey there. i run the local napa store and our u joints will work great for you. thay are actually superior in design and performance to oem ford ones. thanks and good luck....
Listen to these guys. I had misery with TRW U joints and fought vibration problems after installing them. Replaced them with Spicer and it fixed the problem. I'll use nothing else.
