Talking c6 Auto trans upgrades

about to order some new parts for my project truck 86 f250 transmission, looking for anyone who has upgraded these transmissions in regards to making them better. ex i am definitely going to install a better cooling system and better gauges maybe even larger pan. i will also be doing a complete rebuild so internally if you know of anything to upgrade please comment.

C6s are already pretty darn strong/reliable. I used to own a couple of Aamco Transmission Centers. Most of the C6s we did were for work trucks and those we mostly built back to stock specs. They worked fine.

That said there are lots of upgrades available but instead of trying to weed through the maze of options I would suggest you just buy a performance kit from Monster Transmissions.

I built C4's with parts from many different vendors and they all were selling stuff to sell stuff. Jay at Broader Performance is the man. He knows the Ford tranny's and will sit and teach you what you want to know on the phone as long as you will listen. He has set me up with a street trans and converter for a softer launch and a tight one for my turbo racecar. He really knows what he's talking about and can hook you up. Look up Broader performance and you'll love his prices versus the big names. He won't steer you wrong and you'll be happy.

For just a truck, all you're gonna want is a big cooler and a good shift kit. The rest of the C6 is up to the task of whatever you put it through.
