The only thing I have to add to this, are All the fuel fittings tight? Remember, it's easier to suck air than to pump liquid. You can suck air and not have a fuel leak.
You might have a pinhole in your float. Mine were fairly new too and sitting for months this stuff we now call gas actually somehow corroded my floats, both had pinhole leaks and would fill with gas. Something to check... Good luck.
So I think I got this issue all settled now. I ended up getting a fuel pressure regulator and that cured my issue of fuel overflowing from the carb. I had talked to a guy that said that the edelbrock fuel pumps are known for the regulating spring weakening when the engine heats up, allowing more fuel pressure than what is necessary. I think I might replace that pump too because I don't trust it anymore.
For some reason, I then had a bunch of issues with the tuning of my carb. I swapped my dads carb on like I mentioned earlier, and it ran perfect with his. I tried rebuilding my carb again, but sill could not get it to run right. I ended up buying a new holley ultra HP carb, and now it runs just about perfect. Just need to mess with the secondary accelerator pump a little and it will be perfect.
