Headlight Brights Dead?????
2012 F-150 FX4. Okay when I put on my brights my headlights go out...DARK...
I would not think that I would blow both bulbs at same time? before I buy new bulbs is there something else I can check first that may cause this.
Before it did this when brights on....they would revert to low beams and I would have to "RESET" them turn off and back on...then just dark.
Didnt know if a relay or fuse or something I should check first or just get new bulbs???

First check for a blown fuse, then next it could be the hi/low switch that went bad, only working on the low side. Test for power at the headlamp socket. Of the 3 wires there one is ground and the other two go on and off depending on the switch high/low selection

thank you...I planned on that too. checking power at the pig tail harness. so there is a fuse that could go. Im guessing the hi low switch is in the passenger foot panel as when I put on High beams I hear like a relay click over there.

ok not the fuse... tonight will hvae to check the pig tail then if thats ok will have to get new bulbs!!

OK It does not seem to be the fuse as it "looked" good. but I will replace anyways as It can be the bulbs as they dont work when I plug in the plow harness...the go dark on the plow too. So Im thinking the pigtail is NOT getting power. Those fuses are small.
Is there something else to check or a problem with Body control module??
