I have been contemplating getting some Ranch Hand wheel to wheel steps for my truck. The ones I am looking at are the bar with 3 individual steps coming down from the bar on each side. N-fab seems to be the most popular of this style but they seem to be really narrow and do not give you much room to step up into the truck. The Ranch Hand version seems to have substantially wider steps. Does anybody have any pictures of their truck with these steps or any reviews on how they would compare to the plastic running boards that came the first gen super duties like mine? I have a 2000 Ext. Cab Short Bed.
Thanks for any input. Below is a link to what I am referring to.
It wouldn’t pull up on my ipad, but the stock running board, wasn’t long enough for me to step on and get into items in the bottom of my tool box...
the stock running boards become slippery when wet. My wife once fell getting out of the truck, and broke her arm.
as we get older non slip, and lights sure help....
the ones with any type of no slip is a plus,
Thanks for the input! I am definitely after the extra step for getting into the toolbox, especially with the lift. I usually just climb all the way in the bed from the bumper unless I am just grabbing something from the sides. I also like things to be symmetrical and I think having the steps/running boards go from wheel to wheel and not leave that gap looks much better.
