When I picked up my 2017 XLT I noticed that the upper glove box door had a large scratch running across it. The dealer offered to replace the door at no cost. Well yesterday I finally got the truck in for the swap and to my surprise the door doesn't match. This part was ordered using my VIN and I was just curious if there are actually two different trim finishes for the XLT.
Sorry for the dim photo, but you can sort of make out that the button (still original) is glossy and the door is more of a matte finish. It almost feels like it has a grit to it. Dealer is reordering the parts. I don't think I would even care if the button matched.
That looks like the XL door to me. As you state, the XLT door should be smooth, not textured. It might vary too if you have the XLT Chrome Package. I know the door insert trim varies with that package.
Different trim with the chrome package maybe? My XLT doesn't have the chrome trim shown in the pics above, but does have the textured, "speckled" gray trim like the replacement door in the original post.
Thanks for the info guys. My truck is a standard XLT with center console (no chrome package). I do however have the chrome pieces shown in Hackenbush's post.
