I have at least one red/white combo courtesy light on my shelf that I don't need anymore since I switched to '10 door panels. There is also an eBay seller that has them.
Nicmike,
I followed the audio work around and chopped it off way up by the dash. Speakers work like a champ, and I put powerpole connectors on the 12v from the cig ligher! Perfect!
Where do you get them? The Ford part is obsolete. I was thinking of making them from aluminum or steel but if you can find them, I'll take a pair!
It is just under the passenger side correct? I saw no evidence of broken / missing on the drivers side. It looks like it clips into the steel on the drivers side.
Reps sent to cmcdonald375 for posting the photos to what looks like a LOT of hours invested. So funny how it only takes a few seconds to scan a thread, when it probably took many days to actually do what was pictured.
What did you end up using for a sound deadner? Dynamat usually has their name stamped all over their product, and the aluminum lined product you used has no name emblazoned all over it, so I'm curious what you ended up using, what is it made of, where did you get it and how much it cost?

If the weather would have cooperated I probably could have done it all in two days. One helper and it goes pretty fast.

Noico 80 mil 36 sqft car Sound deadening mat, butyl automotive Sound Deadener, audio Noise Insulation and dampening @ $64.00 It took every bit of 108 square feet - 3 complete packs. covered floor, roof and all 6 doors. I used a different product for the hood, but will probably redo it with more of this stuff.

That's funny. I am in the process of putting that exact stuff down on mine, along with a bit of a refresh. Keeping an eye on your progress. I'm just doing the floor.
BTW, the product is gooey rubbery stuff with foil on the back. Seems to mold and stick fine.
Texas! Now I'm really interested in following this thread, because of the heat of Texas will be a fairly good test of how that product sticks to the very long roof skin of your Ex... long enough to exhibit measurable thermal expansion when July rolls around. Please keep us updated if the product sticks or drops on your headliner. It would have taken me months to get done what you got done in a couple of days.
I went to salvage today and got your clip-on piece. It was very brittle from being mounted to the sheet metal, though. I got it out in two pieces, and I was able to glue it in all the places it was cracked. I used a special glue for polypropylene an polyethylene, and it is now stronger at all those points than it was from the factory. If you want it, it is yours. I will be through Temple in about 2 weeks.

I *Think* it will hold up well, but will let you know. I am probably going to remove the stuff I put under the hood and replace it with two or three layers of this stuff. That should let us know about heat a bit sooner than July!
I put a hood blanket from an F250 under the hood of my X last year. It caused the cooling fan to come on constantly in summer, even while driving down the highway. I removed it, and the truck no longer has the big cooling fan coming on all the time (just as before I put the hood blanket on). I deduced that it was causing my engine to run hotter, and those blankets are not for me and my X in South Texas.
