I have a 1951 Ford F-3 pick-up with the original flathead and I swapped out the out the four speed for a S-10 five speed and it drive as sweet as a new truck. The problem I'm having is rebuilding the vent windows. I'm reusing most of the parts and was able to source everything but the pivot posts. No one makes them and junkyards don't want to part them out. I've tried Carpenter and they claim to sell the vent frame with the pivots installed but when i ordered them, they were back ordered. Mid Fifty same thing. I am trying to jury rig 1953-54 posts and that may work if i shorten the pivot and change the angle but that's a stretch. Has anyone dealt with this and is there a solution i'm missing? This is my first post so here goes.
Hey Mike, welcome to FTE the best Ford Forum on the world wide web! I can't help you with your problem since I have a 54 and a 55. I am sure someone will be here soon to help you. Someone might have a picture lying around.
Thanks guys for responding, being a newbie and now figuring out how to respond is a trick. I'll make some calls and maybe C&G has some advice or knows what to do. Pictures of my truck may be beyond my technical expertise today but i'll work on it.
