Blocking off the PCV hoses.
How bad would it be to block off the pcv system. I have a leak at the pcv. I don't have the money or time to fix it at the moment. Can I just plug the pcv hose? Thanks for the help.

PCV is positive crankcase vent... it sucks all the bad fumes out of the motor and keeps any buildup pressure to a minimum...... NOT a good idea, but you can plug the suction end ( valve end) of the PCV, but the motor end should be able to vent out so pressure does not build up........ Why not cut the hose and use a plastic sleeve between the two halfs ? Or is the valve itself broke ?

You can block the PVC hose but not the valve cover vent.
If you do and leave it that way, you invite build up of crankcase pressure that leads to oil bleeding from gaskets and Seals, and engine sludge build up over time.
