I bought a F250 regular cab with a gas engine and it is a 4x4. ever since we have owned this truck it has pulled violently to the left and sometimes to the right.. It is a very erratic problem. I have taken to the dealer at least 6 times with no luck, This last time a week ago, the dealer agreed there was a problem and then had me drive a 2018 regular cab F2504x4 It did the same thing!! The dealer told me that the problem is inherent in these trucks, so combo of solid axles he said and this body style, that is regular cab causes the problem and the dealer said there is no fix for this. has anyone else experienced this? I have applied to invoke the lemon law. the requirements are, you must take the truck to the same dealer three times and not have the problem corrected and the legal firm gets to analyze the truck and so does an independent third party gets to do the same thing, as i said it is a very erratic problem and so neither inspector was able to duplicate the problem. furthermore the dealer gave me one invoice for the truck maintaining that they had only worked on it once, when it fact it has been in the shop at least six times. I have an arbitration hearing the end of march. Is anyone else having this problem please contact me if you have, remember it has to be a regular cab (no back seat) and full bed 4x4. I really need some help on this since the lawyers have essentially given up and are trying to get me 3k to put towards a different truck. help me please if there are any of you folks experiencing this too
I call bs on that. I had the same issue on a '04 F350 and it was the disc brake calipers. If I wasn't holding the steering wheel when fast braking it would try to take it away from me. On one side after a 10 mile trip you could walk to the wheels and feel the excess heat coming from the calipers and rotors.
Agree with fefanatic....dealer is giving you bs. The 2018 may be doing it just coincidentally because the brakes are new and also just because you are sensitive to look out for it (ie: you probably wouldn’t have noticed it if you weren’t already having the problem)
My 2006 F350 had alot of brake overheating (smoking) and pulling issues. New calipers and rotors a few years ago and they’ve been perfectly fine since then.
Also have a 2011 F350 - never had a brake issue with that one though. Stays straight when stopping.
The dealer told me that the problem is inherent in these trucks,
Total garbage, a vehicle is suppose to stop straight...period. The whole reason ABS came about was to aid vehicles in stopping straight. BTW, you didn't mention all the specifics of your truck, like year and engine.
