Throttle not working

every now and then my throttle will not work even all the way down. And sometimes it jumps while at a slow speed... 2001 f250 7.3... can this lead to power loss nd low mpg?

Moving to the 7.3L forum.

I don't think this would affect your fuel economy, it sounds like you have an electrical issue between your throttle pedal and PCM. Just a wild guess though.

Sounds like the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). Pretty common issue. If you search for it, I know there are threads about it.

Same happened to me. I was able to remove my TPS and clean it up with contact cleaner. Been good ever since then. Make sure the contact cleaner is safe for plastic.
