This automatic transmission came out of 63 truck. There is a 1/8 inch steel line directly behind the shift linkage. I don't know where it goes and what its purpose is. It had a compression fitting on the end, but it came off before I took the picture. The cooler assembly is on the other side of the transmission. I am hoping that one of you have one of these in your truck and can enlighten me.
Mine just goes to a bracket on the rear side of the drivers head... I assumed it was a breather of some kind
Also, does your drive shaft have the same connection on the rear of the tranny? I know my picture isn't the greatest but the drive shaft bolts onto the rear of the tranny.
I managed to get one picture before my phone died because iPhones don’t like cold. Grrr! Here is the pic of where my line attaches with a bracket. The tail of my transmission doesn’t look like that. I have a 350 and therefore that is where my ebrake shoes are.
Yup, I have the 3 speed cruisomatic with 292v8, I will take a picture when I get home
Thank you Cory for the pictures. On another site, a member said that it is a front pressure port and the line goes up to some kind of Shrader valve. More research on that now. ha
