Sheet Metal For body Work???

I am ready to start cutting out and replacing body panel sheet metal. What kind of sheet metal do I need to use for the body work please? 1964 F100 Styleside - Is the original sheet metal used still available?

Is there a good source in the Atlanta / North Atlanta Area if there are any locals looking?

You did not say what panels you need to work on or replace.
It is best to get a patch panel like for rockers, cab corners or cab mounts, etc. when you can as it will save you a lot of work trying to make the part first then needing to cut the old out and weld in the new one you made.

I don't know if they have anything for your year truck but on my 81 F100 flare side I went with https://tabcoparts.com/ and was vary happy with the fitment of the parts. I got 2 floor pans, 2 rockers, 2 cab corners, 2 rear door posts, inner & outer lower left door.

If they don't have what you need look at Truck Parts & Truck Accessories for Chevy, GMC, Ford & Dodge Trucks
Now I do not know if they have anything and if they do how well they fit but if they are the only ones you may just have to use them.

Could also try Sherman body https://www.shermanparts.com/ecat/base/index.php
or US Body has fiber glass body parts Fiberglass Reproduction Body Panels

Also try your local body supply shop where you get paint, primer & filler as they may be able to get what you need.

If you are just looking for flat plate to make patches, all the panels were made of cold rolled steel. You should be able to pick up any gauge you need in a town the size of Atlanta. If you just need small pieces try these folks Online Metal Store | Small Quantity Metal Orders | Metal Cutting, Sales & Shipping | Buy Steel, Aluminum, Copper, Brass, Stainless | Metal Product Guides at OnlineMetals.com They have a warehouse in Atlanta.

Thanks to all. There is an Online Metals just North of Atlanta, I really appreciate the referral.

I have not been able to find bed panel components for a 1964 Styleside longbed. I am planning on using 18 GA. to repair the rear bed corner posts and bed sills, and 20 GA. for the body panel patches.

thanks again, this place is great!!!

I don't know the factory gauge on various panels but pretty sure it was heavier than 20 gauge. 20 gauge is easier to cut and shape but heavier is easier to weld.

53Deer- The best info I have been able to find suggests that the original typical body panel sheet metal used was 19 ga. I don't have to do a lot of panel patches, maybe i will just use 18 ga., especially if it will be easier for a beginner welder like me to MIG weld!

i appreciate the input,

Can could buy an old hood from a 60's or 70's model vehicle for $20 at the junk yard and have enough metal to patch anything you need. Doesnt matter if it bent or dented somewhere.

I have done some repairs to my bed where it was hit at some time in it life. Most all the parts I had to replace were 16 ga. I would suggest you look for a HVAC shop that does commercial work. Most of them have the metal and the machinery to form it. I had this repair panel made locally for $30 including the metal.

I use satin coated sheet metal for all my patches I get it from a local Hvac store.
Ask if they have left over pieces quite often they end up with a foot or two off a sheet and they will sell it way cheaper
