Just bought a set of stainless brake lines from MidFifty.
There are some coil springs installed on the two rear-axle lines. I assume that they are anti-kink/anti-crush features, but not entirely sure of their function. Where do these buggers go along the line? They only cover maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of the total length on each line.
For example, does the passenger side line spring (see pic) go over the top of banjo housing (as shown), or are they supposed to cover the section of line right up to the backside of the wheel cylinder/backing plate?
The one I removed had the spring where I show it in the picture, but my hunch is that they are supposed to actually protect the line near the wheel.
Thanks for asking this Bruce - and for answering it Scott.
I had the same question as I am replacing all the brake lines and ran across this same situation.
So thank you both. This is EXACTLY why I joined this forum.
