Gauge sweep

What's the purpose of tach,speedo sweep ca. time ing. is turned on? My 03 f350 7.3 do not make the sweep but gauges are working,have not driven truck yet so have not tested the speedo,all others are working.I have installed a 54 coe cab on this chassis & carried complete wiring harness from the 03 to the 54.

It's a cycle of the computer checking systems. Lots of cars/motorcycles have it now.
Yours won't do it if it doesn't have the computer of the late models.... (which probably aren't compatible anyway).

They were working when I first swapped em over then after a while just stopped. Not really concerned as long as it won't cause any other promblems.
