I picked up an '80 Bronco with a 5.8L in it last week. I'm new to this whole scene but my guess is that it is a 351M.
I've attached a picture with a circled part on the back of the engine. I was hoping someone could identify it for me. It has one wire running off the top of it that goes around the coil area but I haven't been able to trace it back yet. Engine doesn't run real well, but I did notice that the tach doesn't work. Should that be my clue?
Thanks for the help as I work through what sort of mess I brought home last week.
