DPF Filter????

I've been searching for an answer to this since I got my 2012 F250 last year. Everyone talks about delete, and DPF issues etc. I've not been able to find a supplier for the DPf parts. What I'm looking for, and surely it has to bee available, is a single DPF filter. I can't believe that the only way to clear these things if they get clogged it to go to the Stealer and pay the ridiculous 2 to 3k to get a factory replacement. I've seen videos on how to replace the Filter only, (on a 350) yet I can't seem to find the proper DPF filter part number for my year truck.
At this time, I'm seriously looking at a complete DPF exhaust taken off a truck at 30,000 miles. Seems to me that the filter on this system has barely been broken in. I can get the whole system for 700 bucks, and that to me is cheap insurance for when mine finally gives up. I've got 124000 miles on it now. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, as the system is working flawlessly at this time and I have no intention of doing a delete.
Any thoughts?

Drive your truck and enjoy it. Why fret over a maybe that may never happen. We are all going to die some day. Are you living any differently in advance of the inevitable? Your DPF may never fail while you own it.

the logic in me totally agrees with you. It's the OCD part of me that has a hard time with it. I love my truck, and want it to last a long time lol. Thanks for the reply though

If I remember correctly the DPF has a life expectancy of 150k before it needs to be removed and cleaned or replaced. It's cheaper to delete it than it is to clean it so that's the route most people take.

If you can't delete because your city smog tests then maybe a $700 complete DPF would be the cheapest route for when yours nears it's end of life. I believe in being proactive rather than reactive when it comes to vehicles.

The filter may need to be replaced at approximately 250000 miles (400000 kilometers) depending upon engine and vehicle operating conditions. In both cases, the engine control system sets a service light (wrench icon) to inform you to bring your vehicle to the dealer for service. If there are any issues with the oxidation catalyst or particulate filter system, a service light (wrench or engine icon) sets by the engine control system to inform you to bring your vehicle into a dealer for service.

Someone posted a video of how to use a special fluid to clean the DPF. Trying to find it. At least the video showed what was probably ASH coming out when it was applied. Since I don't plan on having this truck past it's extended warranty I didn't pay close enough attention to it. When I try googling I get a lot of shops that have those machines that clean and bake the DPF's back to "new" again. Might be worth looking at getting yours cleaned at a place other than the dealer IF the time comes.

Also, I notice that when I run biodiesel (which now is infrequent due to climate) I go into a regen before the DPF is "full" - so my thought process is running a few tanks of B20 through couldn't hurt either.

After a bit of searching of the interwebs, it appears there is a "DPF Service Kit" available. From the description it appears to be a couple of eight bolt flanges welded on either side of the DPF effectively making the DPF much easier to remove for cleaning since only the filter itself is removed rather than the entire exhaust system. I suppose most won't keep a truck long enough to need multiple cleanings though.

Thanks Dirthawg. That's what I was looking for. Put it in my database. Probably will never need it, but worth keeping it in the back of my mind

After looking at the image of those parts, I'm not so sure that is for a 6.7L DPF. Maybe that is for the older trucks? Not a whole lot of info from the description.

Edit:

They have more than one part number. This one looks more like the 6.7 rocket ship.

yea I saw that too.. If I ever need one, I'll have to call them. OR if it's that much of an issue, the DPF delete might end up being the other option. I'm going to just stop worrying about it.

Start saving $50 a week towards the delete goal... Makes the initial outlay less painful.

I'm thinking (hoping) that it's probably going to be a while until I need one of these, at that point it's gonna be delete time.
