Spark Plug not seated/E150
No.2 cylinder spark plug on my straight-6 went in crooked, I'm pretty sure. It makes the "tick-tick" sound while running now. It's such a tight space there that I can't even see the hole where it goes in. Is there any compound I can put around the threads of the spark plug to seal it when I take it out and reinstall it or just what do you do for something like that? The engine is in my '90 E150 and it has over 272,000 miles on it so far. It's really difficult to get to that spark plug!

Don't know about a sealer but you might want to use a thread chaser or sparkplug hole cleaner to clean up the threads if you cross threaded them tight. The bad part is that if you can't see into that area, it might be a Beach to do this properly. You might try one of the various antisieze or temperature resistant thread locking compounds. Be sure to read the lable, some compounds won't work. I use Permatex antisieze, but I am not sure how well it would seal the threads.

In any event, when you put the plug back in I recommend the long life platinum (supposed to go 50,000 miles) to minimize having to change that plug in the future. Put the platinum in all six cylinders so you can gauge how that one is wearing by the others.
