so I was driving my 7.3 to school this morning and it didn’t give me any **** or anything and I got to school without an isssue but when I went to drive home, about 2 minutes into the drive it started running super rough then died.
It started red again and died again. I got it to start again and it actually stayed running but I had my foot to the floor and it cranked for a while. I don’t think this would be a problem but I did install 2 new batteries last night. Can someone please help diagnose this? I will give as much info as you guys need but I don’t know what to do!
Well I just had new glow plugs put in a month ago but she leaks a lot of oil. Could that be the problem?? I’ll check her tomorrow morning to see how the level is. I should also add this issue was after sitting for 7 hours in like 10 degrees.
After starting it for for the third time it finally ran right and it ran normal for the remainder of the drive home.
Wasn't gelled and fuel gets treated. She was quite low on oil as she leaked more than I thought.... it didn't act up this morning and I'm just hoping that was a one time problem related to the oil level. I've since filled the oil back to safe levels. Still unsure if oil level caused the problem.
Sometimes it pays to maintain your vehicles, new concept to me I guess
Sounds as though it was a low oil issue, but how old is the CPS? Most OBS owners carry a spare just in case, its a ten minute fix. Your symptoms are identical to a failing CPS.
