I'm lost. You've got a valve not opening. Wouldn't that have affected the compression test? Or am I in left field again?

if the exhaust valve is not opening it will pull air in but not let it out. It has fuel in it and it expands but with no place to go once the intake valve opens you get it coming out the intake track.
You would also get a good compression reading.
If you pull the side lifter cover you should be able to see if the outside of the lifter is moving or not then you can check the inside part if it is moving with everything back together.

Ok so here's an update. Had to order the parts cause no one around here has them in stock. But I did confirm this was my only issue left. I took some thin metal and made a shim. Stuck it between the rocker and valve and backfiring and missing was gone also the awful sqeak to. So I do want to thank everyone who helped me out.
