1988 300inline6
Well I'm hving a acceleration problem. Truck idles great. Sometimes when driving I will give throttle and then the engine light comes on then goes off when I let up on gas or press down. This happens when climbing hills and on the highway(speeds around 35 or higher. I'm thinking sensor. Engine coolent sensor, egr, o2, idk I'm clueless. This EEC_4 SYSTEM IS DRIVING ME NUTS

Quit guessing. All it will do is empty your wallet. The Check Engine Light means there is a stored code or codes. Run the Key On Engine Off (KOEO) tests and stored code (CM) display.
List the two digit codes by number and when they were displayed.

I assume you are talking about the RED colored "engine" light rather than the "check engine" light?
I think that is supposed to only come on with very low or no oil pressure or if the engine is overheated. Did you by chance look at the oil pressure gauge when the light was on?

Why would you assume that he is talking about the engine warning light and not the check engine warning light?

Because he said engine light, not check engine light. I guess we will have to hear back from the OP.
