Interestingly, I was just remarking yesterday how useless the dots are when placed on the mirror....especially on the SD where they sit so far out. I never really considered it, until I recently rented either a Toyota or a Nissan sedan (I am in rental cars every week) where the blind spot monitor light was placed on the inside of the door like this DIY approach. The light is amber and covered with a lens that diffuses the light so that it is not harsh. Any how, that got me to searching, and I found this:

Thats cool, should make the modification easier... I like it... after the 3K ohm resistor was soldered in on one leg of each LED, the one in the mirror is now brighter...
I recently posted a comment in another thread about how much I like the BLISS indicator in my son's new Honda as it is positioned about where you put yours.
I will definitely be copying you on this one. Thanks again.
While I like the concept, that looks like a bad time in the dark.
The blinker indicator is brighter, so are the multitude of other lights on the instrument cluster, not counting the Navigation screen... losing all dash illumination at night while driving, well, that would be a bad time in the dark.
Thanks, I don’t know much about electronics. Can a clip on wire connector be used instead of soldering.
Perhaps you could, but that exposed wiring harness is short and tightly wrapped. If you carefully unwrap more of the binding tape to expose more of the wires, you may enable enough slack to be able to use the compression or clip on connectors.
Follow-up... So far, with night time rear traffic headlights blasting off my mirrors, the additional indicators have been a welcome addition with better "got my attention"response from my peripheral vision...Like others, I trust my mirrors as well, but will take all the extra help technology has to offer. no glare, no irritation, no regrets...
