I went and test drove a 2015 F150 Screw, 6.5 bed with a 5.0 last night. It was a nice truck, comfy plush interior, all the modern conveniences. The 5.0 performed well and the steering response and handling were crisp for a truck. Nothing really to dislike, but I didn't buy it. I jumped into my 06 F250 CC, long bed and drove away. Seats were harder, no technology just standard gauges, harder ride (coffee stains to prove it), corners like an aircraft carrier, and no where near as quiet especially with a straight piped turbo diesel; but I LOVED IT. When the light turned green and I accelerated away I could hear myself grunting like Tim the tool man Taylor. Maybe I shouldn't be considering an F150. I felt like I was trying to convince myself that I liked the F150 was the way to go since I don't need an F250 diesel anymore. Maybe I'll start looking for an '17 F250 with a 6.2
I daily drove my Excursion 10k/year before getting a F150 Limited in '14. I drive the f150 most of the time now, only putting 2500 miles on the Ex per year. I love getting in the old girl with leaf springs all around and no traction/stability control. But I've found I really appreciate the daily comfort the 1/2 ton provides. When I miss the height and driving experience I just hop in the 02.
