'00 clunking when dropping into reverse
I get a big clunk that you can hear and feel when dropping into reverse when I get to my destination.
It's only going into reverse. And it doesn't matter if I first go into park, or go into neutral with parking brake on and brake pedal off... still clunks hard when I shift to reverse.
I just lubed the slip joint (I have a one piece drive shaft) and checked the U joints. Didn't make a difference even though the splines were dry.
Any other ideas?

I would still suspect u-joints. I had this happen on my previous DD ('99 4Runner). I physically couldn't detect any play in the u-joints even with a 18" pry bar. Still, I had clunks when shifting into forward or reverse. So I went ahead and replaced the u-joints. No more clunks.
Sometimes if there's tension on the driveshaft, you won't be able to tell if the U-Joints are bad...Get the rear end up in the air both wheels off the ground, chock the front tires and put it in neutral, then crawl under and check...it could be the tranny mount, U-Joints or the rear pinion...I've had them all go bad at one time or another and they all make the same clunk noise going into reverse.
if it is a motor mount it means there is so much vibration in the tranny to cause a clunk through the engine, not normal at all. i second the u joint replacement. i have the same thing on my truck with a clunk when shifting from a forward to reverse gear or from park. you can replace them yourself with a vise hammer, and a easy to watch video. here is the one i used:
