Hello all. Im going to pickup a 460 today that is from a 79 E350 van. It comes complete with holley, stock intake/exhaust manifolds, saginaw ps pump, fan, alt, all the brackets and the c6 trans still attached. Complete.
Here is my question. Will the "y" pipe from my 351m bolt to the 460 exh manifold? I hope so but don't think so. Im hoping that is one less expence. My current exhaust is 2-3 years old and in good shape.
Also, I plan on replacing gaskets before I install it. It is going into my DD 79 bronco. I want an alum intake but dont know which kind I should get. Is it possible to take care of the exhaust hump with the head still on the block?
What other things should I do to it before installing it? Im not looking for big or medium numbers, just good and reliable.
I'm 99% sure that no, it's a different Y-pipe, but there's that 1%...... The only swaps I was ever around were from different MY's, and were a mix-n-match of parts, usually later-model engines rebuilt to earlier internal spec, but later accessories. I'm pretty sure 80's manifolds had different outlets, but I think vans were different, too......
Other consideration - the factory exhaust in that era was pretty horridly restrictive anyhow. If it was too small for a 351......
