Hi i have a 460 in a 78 f 150 4x4, currently the engine is not properly mounted, i am going to buy L and L engine conversion brackets. my problem is right now i have exhaust manifolds on the passenger side from a lincoln(d4ve), i went to the junkyard today and picked up another passenger side exhaust maniold because the lincoln one that i have on the truck is cracked. The one i got at the junkyard has d4te casting numbers on it and is not the same angle to connect to the exhuast pipe. I am wondering what exhaust manifold will fit correctly on my truck once i buy the L and L brackets and bolt the engine up properly?
thank you
ps any help would be great i need to talk to the junkyard guy tomorrow and hopfully get one that fits if the dt4e exhaust is the wrong one
The Driver side OEM Exhaust Manifold is the same for a car or truck.
The right or Passenger side is the one that must be off a Truck because a Passenger car manifold hits into the frame rail making exhaust connection impossible. Just get a right side truck manifold.
And if salvage Yard has a 460 truck get all 6 of those engine mount parts and use them. I would tell you the OEM truck Mounts are superior to any aftermarket set up. The insulators are available & can be replaced if the ones at the salvage yard are weak or bad. . . .

He's right there are Pan clearance issues with the front Differential, it needs hieght and like Dennis said the rear sump set up too. There are no OEM stands & brkts for that retro fit. . . .
You building a Mudder to keep up with the recent weather there, BP?
just trying to add to the information....i have a 3/4 ton 2wd with a 460 and i am putting the 460 in my 1/2 ton 4wd. my question is that will the 460 motor mounts in the 3/4 ton work in my 1/2 ton the same way??? also there might be a chance that my frame was originally 2wd and was converted. my situtation is very complicated so any help would be great. i figured all this info in one thread would be better than me just starting another one.
