battery gauge
I have a 92 Bronco Custom that has 160,000 miles on it. My battery gauge has been doing some crazy stuff...sometimes it will say that I have good voltage but sometimes it says that im very low...this morning was one of the low points and sure enough my battery was dead after i had driven to school...i replaced the alternater in July of 02...so i dunno if thats the problem or not...i havent replaced the battery since sometime in 98...any help..dont feel like buying another alternater...

I would have the battery checked to see if it is still good. Also, check the battery cables where they connect to the battery, if they are corroded you will have a bad connection and that could cause the guage to do that. My guess is, if the battery is that old it is probably on its way out.
