Fuel pick up screen

So I got my fuel tank off, pulled the pickup assembly out and noticed that the screek was broke off and laying in the bottom of the tank. I've never had fuel problems. Should I replace this or will I be ok?

Yes, replace it. Without it, the pickup tube doesn't reach to the bottom of the tank, and you "run out of fuel" at 1/4 tank. Amazon -
Amazon Amazon
- IIRC the online dealership parts depts have it as well.

Thanks for the link, I ordered it, I must have broke it when I was dropping the tank. I ever had any running out of fuel issues. Today wasn't a total loss, I did get my cab mount bushings replaced. Those boogers was a royal pita. But they are done.

It's actually a common problem that they break and/or fall off. Yours was probably on the verge, but still pulling from the bottom. And dropping the tank finished the job.

Or maybe you never ran that tank that low.
