Generator not getting fuel
not sure where to post this...
working on an 01 E450 camper with a V10 and 100k and the generator is not getting fuel...
does anyone know if the fuel pick up tube is raised in the tank?
I am wondering if the tank needs to be above 1/4 tank for the generator to run...
My brothers friend is fixing it up to sell and asked him to look at it.
I figured this was a good place to ask!

Yes the pickup is about 1/4 way up in the tank. I had a Class A and the generator would not pick up fuel at 1/4 tank or on an angle and the tank was low.
The purpose is that your genset will not leave you stranded. You should have enough fuel to get you somewhere with the 1/4 tank. I always carried an extra 10 gallon when I was boondocking just in case I ran it down to empty....
